A reverential reconstruction of m. Balenciaga’s 1947 icon, the house’s first perfume, le dix is an olfactory time capsule. The name, meaning “the 10” in french, refers to 10 avenue george v, the historical address of the original balenciaga couture salon, ateliers, and perfume store in paris. The fragrance is revitalized by blending precious iris absolute with innovative isolated iris aldehydes, exuding elegance and grace, enhanced by violet leaf absolute and incense essential oils. The 100ml refillable glass flacon features a globular glass cap and hand-tied ribbon. The packaging is etched with the patina of age, using modern industrial technology to evoke a timelapse of history. The fragrance box revives the original design of le dix, its logotype resurfacing on the exterior, nestled within balenciaga’s deep industrial grey packaging, a metaphor for the fusion of past and present.
