Makiko Minagawa

Japanese textile designer who worked with Issey Miyake from the early 1970s as the Miyake Design Studio's textile director, developing the fabrics the house's clothing is built on. In 2000 she founded HaaT as its creative director, a line built around fabric developed jointly with mills and workshops in Japan and India, favouring natural fibres and hand techniques such as weaving and dyeing.
